Welcome to our showroom. We manufacture bamboo parasols and garden umbrellas in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Our Customers

The ParasolParadise artisan workshop serves retail shops, web shops, wholesalers, distributors and importers of bamboo parasols and umbrellas.

We also supply event organisers, wedding organisers, hotels and restaurants. We work with our customers for long term relationships - and welcome smaller businesses, business starters and large customers alike.

Retail customers are welcome to source our parasols from one of our retail or wholesale customers in your area. If we are not represented, or if you require specific customisations, do feel welcome to source your parasols directly from us - you might even consider your potential to sell our items!

Location

We are located in the foremost bamboo parasol and umbrella making center of southeast Asia. We live with bamboo on a daily basis - our forest, our garden, our production and our food.

Fair Trade and Environment

Our founding principles are based on fair trade, production centered on personal and social well-being, and care for the environment. In fact, our bamboo is in itself an environmentally friendly resource - and we aim to preserve it.

At the same time - or maybe because of it - we produce some of the most sophisticated and well-known brand name parasols worldwide.

All our items are people friendly, environment friendly, and biodegradable after useful lifetime.

All our parasols are handmade by highly skilled artisans using local, natural, quickly renewable, quality materials. Our production is limited according to environmentally responsible bamboo harvesting and skilled artisan production.

Bamboo

Bamboo is one of the most important raw materials of our parasols. It is strong, flexible, and importantly, fast-growing. In terms of environmental impact, its use is much more preferable than wood, steel, aluminum and other man-made materials. Still, we take special care to harvest our bamboo only from managed plantation and do so sustainably.

Covers and Shapes

We use several cover materials. Our Thai traditional parasols use the finest cotton available. All our paper is hand crafted from the bark of the Mulberry tree. We call this "Saa paper" (sometimes it is also termed "Sa paper"). Our more exclusive parasols are covered with Thai silk. Upon request we also cover with inexpensive rayon, which is sometimes mistaken or unfortunately misnomered as silk.

We produce our parasols in many shapes. Clearly, the most popular shape is round! Upon request, we also produce square, hexagonal and octagonal parasol models, as well as other customised configurations.

We use fully natural ingredients to achieve water resistance for our Thai traditional umbrellas. We avoid using wood. While some smaller parts may use wood, we ensure that we source it from local, private planting.

Made to Order

Most of our parasols and sun umbrellas are made to order. We do keep varying limited stocks in the US and in Europe. These stocks may also be available for drop shipping to end customers. Contact us to avail of this option.

Protection from Sun and Rain

You'll find our handheld parasols and sun umbrellas highly suitable to protect you from sun and rain, and also make a nice fashion statement while you stroll about town, play the golf links or visit the beach. Similarly, our parasols are popular with event organisers for weddings, conventions, promotional campaigns and sports events. For sunny occasions, a number of our parasols can protect you with high grade, 99% UVA/UVB protection.

Our larger stationary, yet portable patio, garden and beach parasols will give you shade while enjoying your afternoon snack at any poolside, seaside, garden-side, street-side, or afternoon picnic.

Parasols

As of 2003 the term "parasol" was virtually unknown on the web. The word had, in fact been used predominantly in French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish languages. In the meantime, countless English-based "parasol" web sites and pages have sprung up, from similar "parasol paradise" to "paradise parasols", some related to our products, some not. Together with a fine, yet unrelated retail sales web site, pamelasparasols.com, ParasolParadise™ Parasols and Umbrellas prides itself in pioneering the popularity the word and the item in English usage.
